“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”  Stephen King

Pakistan is a country filled with talented young individuals. However, talent alone does not always lead to success. In many cases, opportunities are influenced by connections, recommendations, and favoritism rather than merit.

This reality makes it difficult for many capable individuals to move forward. Even so, Pakistan’s youth continue to push ahead with determination, quietly creating their own paths.

Challenges Faced

Young people in Pakistan face several obstacles in education and professional growth. High marks and strong skills are sometimes overlooked, while those with influence often get ahead more easily.

In fields such as media, internships are not always accessible without references. Even when available, many are unpaid, making it difficult for students to gain experience. As a result, deserving individuals often struggle while others progress with fewer challenges.

As Chris Grosser says, “Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.”

Inspiration from Role Models

Despite these challenges, there are inspiring examples of individuals who have succeeded through hard work and perseverance.

Arfa Karim showed the world that talent and dedication can break barriers at any age. Similarly, Maryam Mukhtar demonstrated courage and determination in a challenging field.

Arshad Nadeem rose from modest beginnings to represent Pakistan on the Olympic stage as a world-class javelin thrower. His journey reflects how discipline, resilience, and consistent hard work can elevate raw talent to global recognition.

Similarly, Babar Azam built his career through patience, dedication, and an unwavering belief in his abilities. From struggling to find his place in competitive cricket to becoming one of the finest batsmen in the world, his story highlights the power of perseverance, ambition, and continuous improvement.

Their achievements remind us that success comes through continuous effort and belief in one’s abilities.

As Pelé said, “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing.”

Small Steps, Big Impact

Opportunities are not limited to large organizations. Many young people begin with smaller roles, internships, or volunteer work. These experiences help them build skills and gain confidence.

Still, many continue to work hard and prove themselves in different ways.

As Mother Teresa advised, “Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.”

Resilience and Determination

Change does not happen overnight, but every effort matters. With patience and self-belief, progress becomes possible.

Just as nations like Iran remain firm in the face of challenges, and Palestine continues its struggle, Pakistan’s youth must stay strong and determined.

As Theodore Roosevelt said, “Believe you can and you're halfway there.”

Conclusion

The journey may be difficult, but giving up is not an option. With dedication, hard work, and faith, today’s struggles can lead to tomorrow’s success.

Ask yourself: Have you truly given your best?

Keep striving, keep learning, and keep believing. Success will follow.

As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
